Who We Impact

“How can I help with a non-profit where I can actually add value and where I know how the resources are impacting our community?”

– Kathy Boone during a Baby Bundles’ event, recounting her decision to become involved with the charity.

Too many of our neighbors struggle to meet their families’ most basic needs – healthy food, reliable housing, durable clothes, and quality education. This is unacceptable, especially when you consider the unprecedented economic growth that the Charlotte and Clemson areas have experienced in the past decade. We can do better. We need to do better.

Channeling Kathy’s unrelenting determination and indomitable spirit, the KBB Foundation’s mission is to contribute to and partner with well-established non-profits in Charlotte and Clemson that focus on serving those members of our community who need a helping hand with the essentials of life.

For 2020, we are pledging our support to the following organizations Baby Bundles, Freedom School Partners, Crisis Assistance Ministry and Clemson Community Care.

Adam Cline - Crisis Assistance Ministries

We are so grateful for the grant from the KBB Foundation and your generous gifts.  What a wonderful synergy you have created by inviting friends to celebrate Kathy while also helping local families to get through a financial crisis and regain stability.  Her indomitable spirit, which you help perpetuate, is undoubtedly felt by many of our clients, including Mandy.  From all of us here at Crisis Assistance Ministry, thank you for inspiring hope!

Paula Foust - Baby Bundles

Kathy brought so much energy and enthusiasm to her work on the Baby Bundles board.  It is so wonderful to see her legacy continue through the KBB Foundation – thanks to the generosity of her family and friends and the funds raised at the party in her honor.  Your support helped 15 families receive the essentials to get their babies lives off to a positive start.  Thank you!

Paula Foust, Baby Bundles

With the help of community agencies and local hospitals, Baby Bundles provides bundles of baby essentials to underprivileged families in and around the Charlotte-area. Each bundle, valued around $300, contains essentials designed to help the parents give their newborn a positive start to life.

Without quality summer learning programs, lower income children frequently fall behind their higher income peers. In Charlotte-Mecklenburg schools alone, only 10% of low-income Charlotte-Mecklenburg students have access to summer programs. Freedom School Partners seeks to address this by giving children the resources — literacy skills, character strength and a community that believes in them — they need to develop their potential and inspire a love of reading and learning.
